Brandon Yong (2024 – Present) is a Biological and Agricultural Engineering student at Texas A&M University. He has been working in our lab for over a year, where he has conducted soil textural and hydraulic experiments in the physics lab, and prepared samples for GC-MS analysis and processed samples using the total carbon analyzer in the chemistry lab. Brandon now manages a team of undergraduate students, conducts training sessions, and oversees projects under Leah’s supervision. He has presented research at Texas A&M University and is currently working on a paper for publication. LinkedIn
Jacob Ng (2024 – Present) is a freshman engineering student at Texas A&M University, where he plans to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Jacob has interests in regenerative medicine, agricultural biotechnology, soil health and microbiomes, as well as cancer and biology. He is currently working in the chemistry lab, processing and analyzing samples for their carbon content using a total carbon analyzer. LinkedIn
Harshal Somanahally (2024 – Present) is a chemical engineering student at Texas A&M University. His interests include the environmental benefits of nanotechnology, renewable energy, and the effects of phytotechnology. Harshal is currently working in the chemistry lab, processing and analyzing samples for their carbon content using a total carbon analyzer. LinkedIn
Ameya Khond (2024 – Present) is an industrial and systems engineering student at Texas A&M University. She is currently working on developing a professional dashboard to display the distribution of contaminants in urban gardens across major Texas cities. This project involves data analytics and visualizations using R. LinkedIn
Caleb Holloway (2022 – 2023) is a Biological and Agricultural Engineering student at Texas A&M University. He was the first undergraduate to work on Leah’s research project, assisting with the collection of over 200 soil samples from urban gardens in San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. Additionally, he conducted soil texture experiments in the physics lab. LinkedIn
Evelyn Jiang (2024 – Present) is a biology student at Texas A&M University. She has worked in our lab for over two semesters, conducting soil textural experiments in the physics lab and processing samples using the total carbon analyzer. LinkedIn
