Dr. Binayak Mohanty in the Department of Biological & Agricultural Engineering has a position open for a Ph.D. student in the area of water resources, numerical modeling, and hydrological sciences.
Projects in this area range from soil moisture studies, scaling of soil moisture properties, multi-scale data assimilation, contaminant fate and transport, nitrogen modeling, and redox geochemistry. Research demands laboratory investigations, data assimilation, and/or modeling of soils and contaminants as per the requirement of the project.
This opportunity affords access to state-of-the-art equipment and work on NSF and other federally-funded projects.
Qualifications: Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or be a recent graduate of, an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in related Engineering, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, or Physics disciplines. Candidates should be interested in modeling and/or lab experiments.
A good GRE score and a strong mathematical background are expected in a suitable candidate. Highly talented and motivated individuals are encouraged to apply!
